This 2018 report is Deloitte’s and The Manufacturing Institute’s fifth skills gap study to understand the depths of today’s talent shortage in manufacturing, the impact on the U.S. economy and what measures manufacturers could take to solve today’s shortage while preparing their future workforce for success.


The lack of qualified talent could cause the U.S. tolose $48 billion in manufacturing GDP in 2018, and this is expected to grow to $454 billion by 2028.
